As you can see, the Christie’s original house facade was very brown and quite heavy and scrappy looking.
They came to us knowing that they wanted a larger carport/garage and to modernise their home’s facade in some way (with a lean toward a Hamptons style), but were struggling to work out exactly how.
We took inspiration for our design from the images they had gathered together on Pinterest, as well as from our own extensive experience transforming 80’s and 90’s houses.
Although we wanted to minimise the amount of brown on their home, we did want to introduce timber back in to the design in a clean, crisp and modern way. Juxtaposed against the painted rendered walls, the timber adds beautiful warmth and a welcoming feeling to the home.
The darker trims and garage door give us great contrast and help to add visual interest to the facade. In addition, we wanted the garage and house to look connected, so we designed this fabulous flyover roof to create a covered walkway between the two buildings.
The landscaping and pot plants finish the ‘scene’ by helping to soften the overall effect and assist in visually ‘anchor’ the house (essential for homes located above road level).
