You receive all colours, products, dimensions, and detailed specifications—along with a photo-realistic illustration – so your builder and trades know exactly what to do.

There’s no shortage of ideas online. Pinterest and AI can give you inspiration – but they don’t give you the answers.

They don’t tell you the best products to use, the right dimensions and proportions (which matter just as much – if not more – than colour), or the detailed information a builder actually needs to bring it to life.

And that’s where things can fall apart.

Because a truly successful facade isn’t just a collection of nice ideas – it’s a curated design. Scale, balance, materials, and detailing all need to work together. Get even a few of these wrong, and the result can feel disjointed and underwhelming… even if you’ve spent a significant amount.

At Hotspace, we take those ideas and turn them into a complete, considered design – tailored to your home, your style, and your budget… and backed by the specifications and detail required to build it properly.

Facade Design Plans (for renovations);
Much like an architect, we provide you with all the colours, materials, dimensions and details your tradies or builder needs to carry out your exterior renovation.

However, instead of pages of complicated drawings and legends, we provide you with an easy-to-read ‘Facade Design Plan’ so you can easily understand the details of the design, completing it all in one hit, or chip away at it over time.

Our briefing process is so thorough that we take the time upfront to truly understand your style, your home, and what you’re trying to achieve – so we can design the solution, not a selection of guesses.

Rather than offering a handful of average concepts, we focus on creating one strong, considered design that’s tailored specifically to you. From there, we refine and perfect it together.

The process begins with a detailed information-gathering stage, including a 1–1.5 hour Zoom consultation. We then present your preliminary design and walk you through it in detail.

From there, we fine-tune and develop the design with you – so the end result (when we get there!) feels resolved, intentional, and exactly right.

You’ll receive two full rounds of revisions as part of your upfront design fee. This allows us to refine and perfect the design together – ensuring it feels resolved, intentional, and exactly right.

In practice, most of our clients are very close after the first round, but having two rounds built in gives you the flexibility to explore and fine-tune with confidence.

If you’d like to continue refining beyond this, additional revisions can be arranged at an hourly rate. We’ll always let you know in advance, so you remain in full control while keeping your project moving forward.

Hotspace is a design-only service (like an architect, but focusing solely on Facade designs).

We provide you with the complete design (in the form of a Facade Design Plan or New-Facade Design Plan) which you use to implement your renovation by* or pass on to your architect/draughtsperson to add to their construction drawings.

We’re not architects – we specialise in facade and exterior design.

While some projects are purely cosmetic, many of our designs include minor structural refinements – such as adjusting rooflines, enhancing entry features, updating window proportions, or introducing elements that improve balance and street presence. These are often the changes that take a home from “nice” to truly resolved.

We focus on designing these elements so they feel intentional and cohesive – but we don’t produce construction or engineering drawings ourselves.

Instead, we have a clear process for working alongside the right professionals (such as a draftsperson, building designer, or your existing architect) to translate the design into build-ready documentation.

For new homes or extensions, our work integrates seamlessly with your plans – refining and elevating the facade so it looks as good in reality as it does on paper.

In short, we design it – and ensure it can be brought to life smoothly with the right team around you.

Your investment in a complete facade design – every product, every colour, every detail decided for you, sits between $5,900 – $10,900 + GST (depends on your home, budget and what’s required to achieve your desired outcome).

Once we’ve seen your home and talked through what you’re trying to achieve, you’ll receive a fixed, tailored quote – so there are no surprises down the track.

Here’s something most people find out the hard way – construction and renovations almost always cost more than expected. With that in mind, most of our projects sit between $80,000 and $300,000+, depending on how much you want to change and what your home needs.

This isn’t just a paint job. Your exterior upgrade may include cladding, windows and doors, fencing, landscaping, lighting, driveways and paths, and more often than not; minor structural changes – all working together to create the final result.

We follow a clear, structured process to take your ideas – or guide you if you’re unsure – and turn them into a fully resolved, buildable design:

1. You send through photos, plans, and inspiration images (we can arrange plans for you if needed).

2. You complete our questionnaire so we understand your goals, style, priorities, and budget.

3. We meet on Zoom for a detailed briefing (1–1.5 hours) to assess your home’s exterior and discuss the design direction in depth.

4. We begin developing your design – shaping the layout, proportions, materials, and key features.

5. We present your preliminary concept and talk it through with you, refining it based on your feedback.

6. We finalise and resolve the design so everything works cohesively.

7. Your photo-realistic colour illustration is created so you can clearly see the end result.

8. We present your full Design Plan, including all colours, materials, products, and key details, and walk you through it step by step

9. If required, we can recommend a draftsperson to translate our design into construction drawings.

10. Building & renovating can throw curveballs. Ongoing support is available so you always have someone in your corner (additional investment).

Most designs are completed within 6–8 weeks, depending on the scope.

To get started, we simply require a 30% deposit and a confirmed briefing session.

Colour has a very important role in improving the look of your home’s exterior, but there is a lot more involved in creating an amazing transformation.

We layer colours and materials, textures and products to create beautiful, cohesive Street Appeal that would be impossible to do with paint alone.
